After India’s dominating show against New Zealand on Thursday, Harmanpreet Kaur & Co will have the final chance to fix their shortcomings when they take on Bangladesh in their last league match of the Women’s Cricket World Cup at the DY Patil Stadium today. As the hosts have already sealed their spot in the semi-finals, this match will produce another opportunity for good practice and prepare for the crucial encounter against Australia, which they will be playing at the same venue on Thursday, October 30.

Bowling coach Aavishkar Salvi

India bowling coach and former India pacer Aavishkar Salvi hailed every player’s consistency and reckoned that all 15 players in the squad are match-winners. “All the 15 [players] are match-winners, so depending on the kind of wicket we are playing on and the kind of opposition, we build our playing XI. There is no inconsistency or anything. It’s just the best 11 [players] that we would like to go [with] depending on the surface and the opposition that it is,” Salvi said during the pre-match press conference on Saturday.

Harmanpreet Kaur & Co’s key players kept away from the team’s optional practice on Saturday. India’s star wicketkeeper-batter Richa Ghosh, who suffered a blow to her finger while keeping wickets during their win over New Zealand on Thursday, skipped Saturday’s practice session. When asked about an update on Ghosh’s recovery and her availability for today’s game, Salvi said: “She [Ghosh] is fine and the S&C [strength and conditioning] team is taking care of her. They are still discussing [her availability], I don’t have the exact updates about it, but she looks fine.”
