As the video of Hema Malini arriving at the Breach Candy Hospital, where Dharmendra is currently admitted to, surfaces, mid day has learnt that the veteran actor’s condition is quite serious. Since afternoon there have been conflicting reports around the actor’s health, given his hospitalisation. Family sources have told mid-day that the actor’s family has been asked to come, to be by his side.

“His condition is very serious. He has been hospitalised for over three weeks now. Next couple of days are crucial. Families have been asked to come,” inform the insiders.

Earlier in the day, there were reports suggesting that the 89-year-old actor was on a ventilator. There hasn’t been any confirmation on the same. There were also rumours that Dharmendra’s older son, Sunny Deol, visited him today.

The reports of his hospitalisation first surfaced late last month, leaving fans worried. But sources close to the actor assured there was no cause of worry. According to Hindustan Times, sources said, “Yes, Dharmendra is currently at Breach Candy Hospital, but there is absolutely no cause for concern. The actor is in good health and visits the hospital often for routine medical tests, which is the reason for his current stay. It seems that someone spotted him there, which has led to a frenzy among his fans, but there is nothing to worry about as he is absolutely fine.”

Earlier this year, the Bollywood He-Man underwent a cataract surgery. He was last seen alongside Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon in 2024 romantic comedy, Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Ulja Jiya.

He will next be seen in Sriram Raghavan’s Ikkis, co-starring Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson, Agastya Nanda. The period drama, revolving around the life of the youngest Param Vir Chakra recipient, Arun Khetarpal, is set to arrive in theatres on December 25. It will mark Dharmendra’s second collaboration with Raghavan after the 2007 crime thriller, Johnny Gaddar.
