Who was Zarine Khan?

Zarine Khan was born as Zarine Katrak in a Parsi family in Bengaluru. She was a renowned model, actress and interior designer who got famous in the 1960s and 1970s. Her striking beauty and poise made her one of the early faces who helped shape India’s fashion and advertising industry. She also acted in Hindi films, with significant roles in movies such as Tere Ghar Ke Samne (1963), wherein she starred alongside Dev Anand. She also authored cookbooks and lifestyle articles that included recipes from Parsi families, preserving the Parsi and family food traditions.

Beyond her on-screen presence, she was also known as the wife of actor-director Sanjay Khan. The two reportedly met in the late 1960s and eventually tied the knot. She is survived by her husband, Sanjay Khan, and their four children – Sussanne Khan, Simone Arora, Farah Ali Khan and Zayed Khan.
