Days after socialite Orry found himself in legal trouble, now Bollywood actor Shraddha Kapoor`s brother Siddhanth Kapoor has been summoned by the Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) of the Mumbai Police over his alleged connection with the Rs 252 crore MD drugs case. He has been asked to appear at the Ghatkopar unit on November 25, to record his statement.
Siddhanth Kapoor summoned in drug case
According to the Mumbai Police, Siddhanth`s name cropped up during the interrogation of Mohammed Salim Mohammed Suhail Shaikh, the key accused in a Rs 252 crore mephedrone seizure case. The actor has reportedly been asked to appear for questioning at the Ghatkopar unit on Tuesday, November 25, 2025. For the unversed, Mephedrone (MD) or 4-methylephedrone is a prohibited psychotropic. It was officially notified under the NDPS Act in February 2015.
Interestingly, this is not Siddhanth`s first encounter with drug-related laws. Earlier, in June 2022, Siddhanth was arrested in Bengaluru after he was tested positive for MDMA (ecstasy) and marijuana during a hotel party raid. He was booked under Sections 22A, 22B, and 27B of the NDPS Act and arrested. The actor claimed that his drinks and cigarettes were laced with drugs without his knowledge. The Haseena Parkar actor was later released on station bail, after police argued it was a consumption case, and not a commercial trafficking case.
Siddhanth has refuted any deep involvement in trafficking, while his father, Shakti Kapoor, has also publicly rejected the allegations.
Meanwhile, a second summons has reportedly been sent to Social media influencer Orry (Orhan Awatramani). He has been asked to appear at the ANC Ghatkopar unit on Wednesday, November 26, to record his statement in the case, according to Mumbai Police.
About the case
The Mumbai Police Crime Branch has claimed a significant breakthrough in the sprawling drug case, with the deportation and arrest of key suspect Mohammed Salim Mohammed Suhail Shaikh from Dubai, marking the 15th arrest in the probe that traces back to a small bust in February 2024.
According to sources familiar with the interrogation and the police remand copy, Shaikh, a 31-year-old Dongri native and alleged close associate of underworld drug lord Salim Dola, who is linked to the Dawood Ibrahim syndicate, has reportedly dropped explosive revelations during interrogation, pointing to high-profile drug-fuelled parties organised in India and abroad, attended by several Bollywood celebrities and influential figures.
He, according to the police remand copy, has named Bollywood actors Shraddha Kapoor and her brother Siddhanth Kapoor, dancer-actress Nora Fatehi, politician Zeeshan Siddiqui, son of veteran Congress leader Baba Siddique, Alishah Parkar, son of the late Haseena Parkar, producer Abbas Mustan, and rapper Loka, among others, as attendees and participants.
According to the remand copy, he claimed these events, often held at upscale venues or private farmhouses, were funded through drug proceeds and served as networking hubs for distribution, with Shaikh handling logistics from recruitment of peddlers to direct supplies.
