The Kerala Story 2, directed by the acclaimed Vipul Amrutlal Shah, known for his powerful films like Aankhen, Namastey London, and Singh Is Kinng, is set to make waves once again. The newly released teaser for The Kerala Story 2: Goes Beyond is a gripping escalation from its predecessor, showcasing the intense journey of three Hindu girls—Ulka Gupta, Aishwarya Ojha, and Aditi Bhatia—whose lives spiral into chaos as their relationships with three Muslim boys reveal a sinister agenda of religious conversion.

What starts as love, trust, and emotional connection soon devolves into manipulation and entrapment. The teaser unveils a chilling reality where love is weaponized, identities are compromised, and faith becomes a battleground. Tension and unease permeate every frame, each visual steeped in dread and suppressed anger.

In announcing the teaser, the production team shared, “This time, the girls will not simply accept their fate; they will fight back. The Kerala Story 2: Goes Beyond transcends mere suffering. These women refuse to be silent victims of deceit. They rise and retaliate.” The film embodies a powerful message, encapsulated by its slogan: “Ab Sahenge Nahi… Ladenge!”

Following the shocking impact of the original film, which stirred audiences nationwide, the sequel promises to delve even deeper, challenging comfort zones, silencing, and denial. Scheduled for release on February 27, 2026, the film is poised to captivate viewers once more.

The Kerala Story controversy has its roots in highlighting the alarming issue of forced conversions of women in Kerala and their recruitment by ISIS. The film claims that around 32,000 women were coerced into converting to Islam, with many taken to ISIS-controlled Syria. The trailer’s release sparked legal challenges, prompting a petition to the Supreme Court to halt its distribution, citing concerns of hate speech and propaganda. However, the court declined to intervene, stating, “This film has been certified and approved by the board.”

Congress MP Shashi Tharoor criticized the filmmakers, alleging falsehoods and misrepresentation of Kerala. Meanwhile, activists and lawyers have offered rewards to anyone who can substantiate the film’s claims. The Kerala State Committee of Muslim Youth League has even announced a reward of Rs 1 crore for proof of the alleged 32,000 conversions, calling for evidence collection centers in every district.

Produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah and co-produced by Aashin A Shah under Sunshine Pictures, The Kerala Story 2 – Goes Beyond is set to hit theaters on February 27, 2026.
