In an impressive display of skill, Shardashram Vidyamandir English Medium School from Dadar triumphed over KEM High School from Kanjurmarg with a commanding nine-wicket victory in the girls U-16 quarter-finals of the Mumbai School Sports Association (MSSA) Manoramaben Apte inter-school cricket tournament. The match took place at the Police Gymkhana in Marine Lines on Friday.

Choosing to bat first, KEM struggled to find their footing, managing only 43 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in their 10 overs. The disciplined bowling performance from Shardashram, spearheaded by Kartika Poojary who took 3 wickets for 19 runs, made it challenging for KEM to build momentum. Madura Dyadke also contributed with a tight spell, claiming 1 wicket for just 9 runs. The only bright spot for KEM was Avani Vengurlekar, who scored 13 runs off 29 balls.

In response, Shardashram chased down the modest target with confidence, finishing at 44 runs for the loss of just one wicket in a mere 6.4 overs. Ria Thakur stood out with a stellar performance, scoring 30 runs off 27 balls without losing her wicket. For KEM, Avani was the lone wicket-taker, ending with figures of 1 for 20.
