On Sunday at the Wankhede Stadium, the atmosphere was electric, with Nepalese supporters making their presence felt in a sea of vibrant enthusiasm. Chetan Kesi, who traveled all the way from Kathmandu with a group of 20 fellow fans, expressed their dedication: “We’re here to cheer for Nepal. Our players are putting in tremendous effort, and we believe we’ll be a significant force in future World Cups. There are approximately 3,000 to 4,000 of us here today,” Kesi shared with mid-day. In contrast, English fans were noticeably sparse. However, Garry and Clare Pheasey, a couple from Manchester, were soaking in the cricket action while also preparing to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary on February 10. Clare reminisced, “Shortly after our wedding in 2021, we visited Sri Lanka to watch England play, and now we’re thrilled to be here again supporting them!”
