Bollywood actress Sharvari recently expressed her heartfelt gratitude towards renowned filmmaker Imtiaz Ali. She is set to star in the much-anticipated film ‘Main Vaapas Aaunga,’ directed by Ali. On Friday, she took to Instagram to share a collection of behind-the-scenes photos from the film’s set. The first image features a candid moment with Imtiaz, while the second showcases a touching note she wrote for the director. The final photo captures a masterclass session led by Imtiaz alongside Mani Ratnam.
In her post, Sharvari wrote, “It would be an understatement to say I’m a huge fan of your work. As our teaser launches today, I’m reminded of the masterclass I attended three years ago where you shared insights on your craft, your vision, and the characters that bring your cinematic worlds to life.”
She continued, “I vividly recall sharing an Instagram story that day, hoping to be a part of your films one day. Little did I know I would soon see a teaser with ‘A FILM BY IMTIAZ ALI’ featuring ME. The journey of ‘Main Vaapas Aaunga’ has been incredibly fulfilling for me as a young actor eager to explore diverse characters, all thanks to your encouragement and belief in me. From scouting locations to wrapping up the shoot, every conversation over lunch and dinner will remain some of my fondest memories. Thank you, sir! You are truly a unique filmmaker and an inspiring person.”
Earlier on Friday, the team behind ‘Main Vaapas Aaunga’ unveiled the film’s first-look poster, hinting at a nostalgic romance. One of the images shows Sharvari cycling through a field, with Vedang Raina playfully chasing after her in traditional attire. Another image features Diljit Dosanjh, exuding calmness in the same field, holding a travel cup, hinting that his character may hail from a bustling city or even abroad. Although the posters don’t reveal much about the plot, they suggest that ‘Main Vaapas Aaunga’ will traverse two different timelines.
The teaser was also released on Friday, showcasing a star-studded cast including Diljit, Naseeruddin Shah, Vedang, and Sharvari, promising a poignant tale of love and longing. ‘Main Vaapas Aaunga’ is slated for a theatrical release on June 12, 2026.
