As the excitement builds for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, which kicks off on March 28, only the first 20 match schedules have been unveiled due to ongoing state elections. Rajasthan Royals’ (RR) fast bowler Tushar Deshpande recently shared his thoughts on the high standards exemplified by star bowler Jasprit Bumrah. He emphasized his commitment to continual improvement and skill enhancement.

“The benchmarks are incredibly high, which serves as a strong motivation for me. My focus is on gradual improvement—refining my skills, maintaining my fitness, and gaining a deeper understanding of my game. I aim to seize every opportunity to elevate my performance,” Deshpande stated.

Retained by the Royals for the upcoming season, thanks to his impressive showing last year, the Maharashtra-born cricketer also highlighted the potential impact of teammates like Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Ravindra Jadeja, reinforcing the team’s emphasis on mutual support.

“We have a well-rounded and talented squad. Players like Vaibhav and Jaddu can significantly influence our performance. As a team, we’re committed to backing each other and achieving success together,” he added.

Deshpande expressed his enthusiasm for the season ahead, noting the renewed energy within the squad. “I’m genuinely excited for this season. Although last year didn’t meet our expectations, that’s part of the sport. There’s a fresh vibrancy in the group, and I’m eager to contribute in whatever capacity the team needs,” he concluded.

The Rajasthan Royals will kick off their IPL 2026 journey with a match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on March 30 at the Assam Cricket Association Stadium in Guwahati.
