Dhurandhar 2 is making headlines at the box office, with its characters resonating deeply with audiences. One standout is Aditya Uppal, who portrays Omar Haider—a multifaceted role that significantly evolves throughout the film. In an exclusive interview, the actor shared insights about his journey, audition experience, and collaborating with Sanjay Dutt.

Aditya revealed that he was one of the last actors to be cast for the film. “When I got the call, I was handed a script and briefed about my character. I was probably the last to join the cast,” he mentioned. Interestingly, he filmed his scenes for the sequel before the first part was even released. “We had no idea that the film would be a series. I started shooting with part two first,” he explained.

Discussing his character, Aditya described Omar Haider’s gradual yet impactful transformation. “He is Sanjay Dutt’s right-hand man, responsible for managing the entire environment around him,” he elaborated. Initially, Omar is quiet and observant, but he evolves into a more aggressive figure as the plot unfolds. “He starts off as a very reserved individual, but by the end, he exhibits a fierce side. That’s his journey,” Aditya noted, adding, “It’s a beautifully written character, one that any actor would be thrilled to portray.”

To prepare for the role, Aditya engaged in extensive research. “They provided me with a wealth of material. I was encouraged to bring my own essence to the character and stay as authentic as possible,” he shared. He highlighted Omar’s personality traits, saying, “He’s not very vocal; he chooses his words wisely, and when he does speak, it carries weight.”

Aditya fondly recounted his audition process with casting director Mukesh Chhabra. “I auditioned multiple times—first in Delhi and then had a personal meeting. After several rounds, they decided to proceed with me,” he said.

Working alongside Sanjay Dutt was a highlight for Aditya. “I’ve always admired Sanjay Dutt… I never imagined I’d have the chance to work with him so early in my career,” he confessed. Despite feeling nervous initially, he added, “When I met him, he instantly put me at ease. That’s his charm; he’s genuine, approachable, and captivating.”

When asked if Omar would ever discover that SP Aslam had placed him in a fatal trap, Aditya responded, “Omar remains innocent, loyal, and generous… he views his mentor as a guru and strives to make him proud.”

With a compelling storyline and powerful moments, Omar Haider has undoubtedly resonated with audiences, establishing Aditya Uppal as a standout talent in the film.
