Dhurandhar 2 is currently making waves at the box office. After smashing records during its impressive opening weekend, the film has maintained its powerful performance into the second week. Many are hailing the casting as the film’s standout element, but rumors circulated that Aamir Khan was in the mix for the role of Ajit Doval. In reality, R Madhavan has taken on this pivotal role, and his team has swiftly put these speculations to rest.

Contrary to various casting rumors, one notable claim suggested that Aamir Khan was approached to play Ajay Sanyal. However, reports from casting director Mukesh Chhabra indicating otherwise have been categorically denied. A source close to Aamir told Instant Bollywood, “The claims about Aamir Khan being considered for Ajit Doval’s character in Dhurandhar or about him contacting Mukesh Chhabra are completely false and unfounded.”

At a recent event discussing the Ranveer Singh-led film, Aamir expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “I believe it’s performing exceptionally well. I haven’t watched it yet, but I’ve heard nothing but praise. Both Dhurandhar 1 and 2 have been remarkable successes, and I wish them all the best.”

Dhurandhar 2 features an ensemble cast, including Ranveer Singh, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, Sara Arjun, and Rakesh Bedi, who all reprise their roles. Set in the tumultuous Lyari town of Karachi, known for its gang wars and conflicts, the film explores covert intelligence operations intertwined with significant geopolitical events such as the Kandahar plane hijack, the 2001 Parliament attack, demonetization, and the 26/11 Mumbai attacks.

The sequel follows Ranveer Singh’s character, Hamza Ali Mazari, as he rises through the Karachi underworld, tracing his evolution from Jaskirat Singh Rangi to a skilled covert operative. Produced by Jyoti Deshpande and Lokesh Dhar, the film is available in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam.

Recently, the film faced backlash from the Sikh community, which sought to file an FIR over perceived hurt to religious sentiments. Filmmaker Aditya Dhar has firmly condemned the distribution of AI-generated and altered visuals related to his latest work, Dhurandhar: The Revenge, labeling them as “false, misleading, and malicious.”
