On Wednesday, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) unveiled the schedule for the upcoming T20I series in July, where Team India will take on Zimbabwe. The three-match series will be hosted at the Harare Sports Club in Harare. The last encounter between the ‘Men in Blue’ and Zimbabwe took place in 2024, featuring five T20I matches.

The series kicks off on July 23, with subsequent matches scheduled for July 25 and 26. Additionally, the BCCI announced that Zimbabwe will visit India for a three-match ODI series in January 2027, although specific dates are yet to be confirmed. The venues for this much-anticipated ODI series will include Kolkata, Hyderabad, and Mumbai.

Their most recent meeting occurred during the T20 World Cup 2026, where India triumphed over Zimbabwe by 72 runs in Chennai after posting an impressive total of 256 runs for four wickets.

Givemore Makoni, managing director of Zimbabwe Cricket, expressed enthusiasm for the series, stating, “Matches against India always generate enormous interest, and this is a fantastic opportunity for our players to test themselves against the world champions on home soil. It is a landmark moment for Zimbabwe to be touring India again for a bilateral ODI series after more than two decades. This tour symbolizes both an honor and a valuable opportunity for our players. We anticipate competitive, high-quality cricket that will strengthen the bond between our nations while providing invaluable exposure for our team.”

Currently, several players are engaged in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL). Recently, the Gujarat Titans (GT) faced a defeat against the Punjab Kings (PBKS) by three wickets at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in New Chandigarh. The next match will feature Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) going up against Delhi Capitals (DC) at Ekana Cricket Stadium B Ground in Lucknow.
