In a gripping encounter, the Lucknow Super Giants triumphed over the Sunrisers Hyderabad by 5 wickets, marking their first win of the season. LSG captain Rishabh Pant shone brightly, remaining unbeaten with a stellar 68 runs that propelled his team to victory.

Sunrisers Hyderabad, after a rocky start, managed to post 156 runs in their 20 overs. Following the match, Ishan Kishan acknowledged that his team fell short in their batting performance during the first innings.

“Our bowlers did a commendable job today, executing the plan effectively in the right areas. The fielders also played their part by putting in a solid effort. However, in tournaments like these, just one or two boundaries can shift the momentum drastically. I must commend Klasee and Nitish for their contributions, which helped us reach a decent total. But moving forward, we definitely need to focus on our batting, as we’ve made it easier for our opponents to chase down totals in the past. That was our strategy, but we ended up relying too much on singles,” Kishan remarked.

He also praised Rishabh Pant for his match-winning performance, highlighting the contributions of Harsh Dubey for his excellent bowling early in the innings.

“We need to acknowledge the batters as well; Rishabh played exceptionally well. Sometimes the margin is razor-thin, and a couple of boundaries can significantly alter the game’s outcome, as we saw in the 17th over with a flurry of boundaries. Harsh bowled magnificently, and we hope to see more of that from him,” Kishan added.

Rishabh Pant, in turn, commended his bowlers after their impressive victory over SRH. He emphasized the importance of their collective effort in establishing a strong foundation for the match.

“It’s certainly a huge advantage when your bowling unit performs well, especially in the later stages of the game. It sets you up for success, particularly when you bowl first. I think everyone contributed well today, especially Siddharth, who made a significant impact,” Pant concluded.
