In the IPL 2026 clash against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have stormed to a score of 123 runs for the loss of four wickets after just 10 overs. Starting the innings with a bang, the dynamic pairing of Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma set the stage for SRH. Head was a force to be reckoned with, scoring 46 runs off just 21 balls, punctuated by six boundaries and three sixes, before being caught by Cameron Green in Kartik Tyagi’s over.

Abhishek wasn’t far behind, narrowly missing a half-century with a blistering 48 runs from 21 balls, which included four fours and four sixes. Following the departure of Head, captain Ishan Kishan stepped in but could only manage 14 runs off nine balls, featuring three boundaries. Aniket Verma also struggled to make an impact, scoring a mere one run from four deliveries.

Currently, Heinrich Klaasen and Nitish Kumar Reddy remain unbeaten at the crease. KKR’s Blessing Muzarabani has been the standout bowler so far, taking two wickets for just 20 runs in two overs. Kartik Tyagi and Anukul Roy have each claimed one wicket, while Vaibhav Arora, Sunil Narine, and Varun Chakaravarthy are yet to find success.

Earlier, after winning the toss, KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane opted to bowl first, stating, “There is always room for improvement but a lot of positives came out of our last game. We don’t usually see this much grass, and with the rain around, it made sense to bowl first. The dew factor is uncertain, but the breeze should help throughout the match. Cam Green is doing well and should bowl soon. We’re sticking with the same team.”

In contrast, SRH skipper Kishan remarked, “We would have preferred to bowl first. However, now that we’re batting, we need to adapt and play our game. Execution is key; we need to stay calm even in tough situations. We’re keeping things straightforward today. I don’t have a definite update, but he should be ready soon as he makes a significant impact with the bat. We’ve made one change, bringing in Shivang to enhance our wicket-taking options, as he has performed well in the nets.”
