Arjun Tendulkar, son of cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, is tying the knot with Saaniya Chandhok today in Mumbai, and the event has attracted a host of Indian celebrities from cricket, cinema, and politics. Among those making a rare joint appearance are Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
Amidst rumors suggesting tension in their marriage, the couple, who tied the knot in 2007 and share a daughter, have kept a lower profile together. Speculations about their relationship intensified after Abhishek’s absence from Aishwarya’s recent 50th birthday celebrations.
However, on Thursday, they arrived hand-in-hand at Arjun’s wedding, with Abhishek looking dapper in a black kurta and Aishwarya sparkling in an ice-blue anarkali suit. The couple posed for photographers, showcasing a united front as they entered the venue.
In contrast, megastar Amitabh Bachchan and his wife, Jaya Bachchan, were spotted arriving separately for the wedding festivities.
About Aishwarya and Abhishek
For years, there have been whispers about issues between Abhishek and Aishwarya, who married in 2007 and welcomed their daughter, Aaradhya, in 2011. While they often shared joyful moments, speculation grew when they began making public appearances apart. Reports even claimed they were not cohabiting, especially following Abhishek’s absence from various family gatherings.
Yet, in recent months, the couple seems to have silenced those rumors. From dancing together to “Kajra Re” to attending events like Ashutosh Gowariker’s wedding and enjoying a vacation, they have made efforts to show their togetherness. They were also seen together at Dharmendra’s prayer meet.
In a recent interview, Abhishek addressed how Aaradhya reacts to the rumors surrounding her parents. He mentioned that, at 14, she doesn’t have a phone and likely remains unaware of the gossip. “I hope she’s not aware. She’s a mature and wonderful girl, and her mother has done an excellent job. The internet isn’t her priority, and she has no interest in reading about us.”
