During a recent fan meet, megastar Amitabh Bachchan, affectionately referring to his admirers as his extended family, found himself emotionally overwhelmed, stating that his “eyes were filled with tears” from the outpouring of love he continues to receive, even after decades in the Hindi film industry.

Sharing moments from the gathering on his blog, Amitabh posted a series of photos showcasing fans of all ages, from toddlers to young adults, who gathered outside his Mumbai residence.

In his heartfelt message written in Hindi, translated for his audience, he expressed, “Today, I met my well-wishers, and my eyes filled with tears. What have I done to deserve such love and respect after all these years?” He reflected on the innocence of the young fans, noting that while they may not fully grasp the occasion’s significance, their bright smiles brought him immense joy.

Amitabh pondered the challenges that lie ahead for future generations, sharing his worries about the world they will inherit. “It pains me to think about the kind of world we will leave for them. Will they be able to face it? May God’s grace always be with them,” he wrote, expressing a deep sense of responsibility.

He also shared his sorrow over the recent loss of a close relative, stating, “Grief is all that can be acknowledged.”

On the professional front, Amitabh is currently engaged in the sequel of the anticipated film, Kalki 2898 AD. He discussed the project, stating, “Kalki 2 has begun, and I will always cherish the love and affection shown at the Sunday meet. I hope to see everyone again next Sunday.”

Kalki 2898 AD features a star-studded cast including Kamal Haasan, Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, and Disha Patani. Inspired by Hindu scriptures, this epic mythological sci-fi film is set in a dystopian future and focuses on a mission to protect an unborn child, believed to be Kalki, the final avatar of Vishnu.
