In the early months of 2026, actor Rajpal Yadav made headlines following his cheque-bounce case and subsequent arrest. After failing to repay his debts, he turned himself in at Tihar Jail. Prior to his incarceration, Yadav expressed his financial struggles, which led to several celebrities offering their support, ultimately resulting in his bail.
At a recent awards event, Rajpal Yadav addressed the fluctuating dollar and declining rupee, but his comments were met with ridicule from the host. The moment quickly gained traction online, prompting superstar Salman Khan to voice his support for Yadav.
Taking to social media on Tuesday, Salman shared a still of Rajpal from the awards ceremony. He wrote, “Rajpal bhai, you have been in the industry for 30 years, and we all keep casting you because you understand your craft and add value. You’ll continue to find work, even at this dollar rate. That’s the truth.”
He added, “And remember, sometimes things are said in the heat of the moment. If you have to give, keep it in mind and work with your heart. Whether the dollar goes up or down, what difference does it make? Ultimately, the money will be spent in India.”
In a recent chat with Farah Khan, Rajpal reflected on his career. When asked if he still had work, he replied, “I started my journey with you in 1999.” Farah inquired if that was his debut film, to which he clarified it was actually ‘Shool,’ but ‘Mast’ followed soon after, marking his collaboration with Ram Gopal Varma.
Rajpal shared, “In my first year, the industry showered me with love, and I’ve completed over 200 films.” Farah remarked that he must have worked on at least 100 films with director Priyadarshan, to which Rajpal humorously noted he had collaborated with Ram Gopal Varma, Priyadarshan, and David Dhawan for at least 50 films each. Farah quipped, “Even Salman can’t do without you,” and Rajpal concurred, adding, “Yes, both Salman bhai and Akshay bhai need me, and I’ve done around four films with Shah Rukh Khan too.”
