Sanju Samson earned the title of “Player of the Tournament” thanks to his remarkable batting performance. Over five matches, the right-handed batsman amassed an impressive 321 runs, boasting an average of 80.25. His standout moments included being named “Player of the Match” for his innings against both the West Indies and England. Notably, his 89 runs in the final against New Zealand made him the holder of the highest individual score in a Men’s T20 World Cup final.
Ishan Kishan also made significant contributions, scoring 317 runs in nine matches, ultimately finishing as the fourth-highest run-scorer of the tournament. His top-order batting was crucial for India, featuring a striking strike rate of 193.29. Kishan’s highlight was a brilliant 77 runs against Pakistan, followed by key innings against England and New Zealand, including a half-century in the grand finale.
Hardik Pandya, another key player, was recognized for his all-round capabilities. He struck two half-centuries and was instrumental with the ball, delivering critical spells including a quickfire 52 off 28 balls against Namibia, and he ended the tournament with nine wickets.
Completing the quartet is Jasprit Bumrah, who was named Player of the Match in the final for his outstanding bowling. He emerged as one of the tournament’s leading wicket-takers, with 14 wickets across eight matches, and delivered exceptional figures of four for 15 in the final.
